We envision Au Château, as an evolving Campus of Care that provides or support’s most senior’s needs, such as affordable housing, nutrition, safety, companionship and opportunities to participate in all aspects of our Campus life.

Life Lease Residences – Terrace d’Or

We are proud sponsors of the Life Lease project consisting of 27 townhomes. Established in 2000, this housing development provides adults over the age of 55 with a resident funded retirement alternative. These residences offers a wide range of amenities and people choose life lease housing for:

  • Fewer home maintenance responsibilities
  • Access to social and recreational programs
  • A sense of community
  • Care free living

Seniors Apartments

Located on the Campus of Care of Au Château is 175 individual units for seniors over the age of 65. The buildings go by the name of Joie de Vivre (affordable housing), Villa des Pignons (geared-to-income), Domaine Leclair (geared-to-income) and Villa du Loisirs (market). The project is renowned for its mix of affordability, thus catering to a wide variety of seniors.

Three of these facilities are linked to the Nursing Home and West Nipissing General Hospital and the Family Health Team. These ideal locations provide excellent accessibility to shopping, transportation, banking and restaurants in the wonderful community of West Nipissing.

Supportive Housing / Support Services

Supportive housing and support services are available to any individual resident at one of our 4 seniors apartments, who eligible is assessed to be eligible. With funding from Ontario Health, personal care can be provided to those who require it, and assist them with their daily needs. Services include basic housekeeping, laundry, 24 hour safety checks, medication reminders and assistance with bathing and other personal care.

Supportive housing and support services are designed to help people remain independent, living in their own apartment, for as long as possible.

Au Château Long Term Care

Established in 1962, Au Château is a municipally operated facility. Our friendly and courteous bilingual staff have been dedicated to providing exemplary care and services to our residents. Our 162-bed facility features 160 long-term care beds and 1 short stay / vacation care beds in a caring home-like environment.

Amenities include sunny dining rooms, a courtyard garden, a full range of activities that contribute to the health and well-being of our residents. We also have Champlain program that provides Church services, visitation and special programs to meet the spiritual needs of our residents.
